Roller Chain Sprockets and Bushings
A wide range of roller chain sprockets and bushings are available from Rainbow Precision for usage in various industries, including packaging, food, and aggregate.
Roller Chain
Our heavy-duty solid roller chains are built with
heat-treated side plates and pins to endure significant shock loads and harsh
environments. Each roller chain has
already been stretched. The roller chain sprockets are an inch in size, with two set screws and standard keyways,
and come with or without hardened teeth. They are also available in stainless
steel. To accept inch and metric bores,
bushings are created as an insert for sprockets.
On-demand, we provide custom
machining, re-bores, and timing chain replacement.
Sprockets
The usual keyway and two set
screws are included with finished-bore
sprockets. The purpose of the keyway is to secure your sprocket to the shaft and prevent it from spinning. For latching onto the shaft, a set screw is positioned
over the key and another at a 90-degree
angle. The keyway complies with ANSI standards; nevertheless, before
placing an order, please double-check your keyway. If necessary, remember to
order key stock.
Taper-Bushed Sprockets are simple
to install and allow you the option to use the same sprocket with various shaft sizes. Taper-Bushings are available to match the bore sizes you want (sold
separately). Use with single-strand and double-strand ANSI chains. All ANSI
criteria are satisfied by these steel sprockets and bushings.
Idler sprockets allow your
chain to move freely while guiding and controlling chain slack on built-in
bearings. Idler sprockets are silent
and self-lubricating. Idler sprockets
will increase a roller chain and sprocket's lifespan.
Bronze Bushing with an Oil Filled Sleeve
Powdered metal bearings (SAE
841) are employed when entirely wear-resistant parts are required. To create
self-lubricating powdered metal bronze
bushings, powders are combined. The resulting mixture is shaped into the
necessary sizes and then heated in an oven to fuse the particles together.
Sizing the bronze bushing is the
next phase in the procedure, which entails putting the material back into the
dye and pressing it into the desired form. The metal bronze bushing will then be oil-impregnated to provide
lubrication or corrosion resistance.
This results in an
incredibly cost-effective bearing. The operating temperature range is between
10°F and 220°F. Plastic bags are used during shipping to protect the oil. In
this department, we provide a wide range of sizes in inch dimensions, both
sleeved and sleeved with flanges. On request, metric bronze bushings are also offered.
The SAE 841 bushing, commonly known as Oilite®, is made of powdered
metal that has been sintered and impregnated with 19% SAE 30 oil. The oil
serves as a lubricant and decreases wear. This variation features a flange.
